Mounting CD-ROM Disks
MPE/iX disks loaded into non-SCSI drives are automatically recognized by
the system and mounted. If you are using a non-SCSI drive, you do not
need to mount MPE/iX CD-ROM disks manually.
If you are using a SCSI drive, you need to tell the system to mount a
CD-ROM disk. After inserting the MPE/iX CD-ROM, you need to mount the
disk manually.
To mount an MPE/iX CD-ROM disk onto a SCSI drive, use the AVRSCSI MOUNT
command. Type:
:AVRSCSI.INSTALL.SYS MOUNT:ldev#
where ldev# is the LDEV number of the device on which you want to mount
the CD-ROM disk. For example, to load a disk onto LDEV 5, type:
:AVRSCSI.INSTALL.SYS MOUNT:5
You do not normally have to manually dismount the disk. For example,
during a software update, the HPINSTAL file automatically dismounts each
disk when it finishes installing the information on that disk.
