HP RXForecast Users Manual for MPE Systems
Chapter 2 Demonstration of HP RXForecast
This chapter steps through the different features of HP RXForecast that
are used to produce a forecast. You will become familiar with how the
product integrates with HP LaserRX/MPE and the different options that are
available for producing a forecast.
The purpose of this chapter is to give you a quick overview of HP
RXForecast. Thus, techniques, concepts, and features are explained only
briefly. More thorough explanations are given in subsequent chapters, to
which you are referred. You will make forecasts in this section, but no
analysis will be done. You will analyze data in the case studies in
Chapter 5 .
The graphs drawn in this chapter use the TRAPPER.PRF file provided on the
HP LaserRX/MPE CD. Since HP RXForecast will access data much faster from
your PC hard disk than it will from the CD, you should copy TRAPPER.PRF
from the CD to the LASERRX directory on your hard disk if you have
approximately 3.5 megabytes available. This will make the product
perform as it would with your own data. Use TRAPPER.PRF from the CD if
you are unable to copy it to your hard disk. See "Setting Performance
Expectations" for a discussion of performance times.
Tip Go through this chapter using the TRAPPER.PRF logfile before you
look at your own data.
You should be familiar with HP LaserRX/MPE features before beginning this
section. The HP LaserRX/MPE User's Manual: Analysis Software explains
many options that are also used by HP RXForecast, such as opening a file,
making a data communications connection, or exporting data to a
worksheet. These HP LaserRX/MPE functions operate the same way in HP
RXForecast.
