HP Resource Sharing for MPE/iX

Host Diagnostic Interface 

The Host Diagnostic Interface is the user's interface to diagnostic tests
for Resource Sharing applications.  The errors explained here are
generated by this program.

HDI 101    

Not used.

HDI 102   Internal Error; local PLabel mismatch!   

System error.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 103   Internal Error; failure in Create/Release Known Sys Object  

System error.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 104    

Not used.

HDI 105   Internal Error; failure in configuration file access  

Failed to access configuration file DGCONFIG.PPC.SYS.

  Write down the error number and message, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 106   Message catalog access error number; message ID = number  

Error in gaining access to message catalog CPDDG000.PPC.SYS.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 107   Message catalog open error number  

Error occurred in opening message catalog CPDDG000.PPC.SYS.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 108   No current product ID exists  

A product identification code was not supplied to the intrinsics.

  If you are using the command mode program (PPCDIAGC.PPC.SYS), enter the
PRODID command to set the product identification code to RESSHR for
Resource Sharing print and disc functions or RSBACKUP for Resource
Sharing PC Backup functions.

HDI 109   Unknown command  

An unknown command was given to the command mode program.

  Type a valid command or type HELP for more information.

HDI 110   Cannot open IPC Message File  

You are out of disc space.

  Free additional disc space and try again.

HDI 111   Unknown type of IPC message file access requested  

System error.  The diagnostic is not responding with the proper IPC
messages.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 112   Illegal type of IPC message file access requested  

System error.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 113   End-of-file encountered during IPC message file access  

System error.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 114   Unknown product ID given  

An unregistered product identifier string was specified.

  Correctly type the desired product identifier, or install the desired
product if not already installed.

HDI 115   Invalid product ID given  

The product identifier specified does not have the proper syntax for a
product identifier.

  Correctly type the desired product identifier.  Type HELP to display
the product identifiers for all configured products.

HDI 116   Invalid product name specified  

A product has been configured with an invalid product name.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 117   Invalid product number specified  

A product has been configured with an incorrect product part number.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 118   Invalid diagnostic program specified  

A product has been configured with an invalid name for its diagnostic.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 119   Invalid diagnostic catalog file specified  

A product had attempted to register itself with an invalid name for its
diagnostic catalog.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 120   No diagnostic catalog file supplied  

A product has registered itself with a diagnostic but no supporting
catalog.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 121   Number of products configured exceeds limits  

A new product diagnostic cannot be added.  The maximum number of
registered products has already been reached.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 122   No products are configured; check configuration file  

The Host Diagnostic Interface cannot be used until at least one product
has been installed.

  Install the products that have been purchased, then rerun the Host
Diagnostic Interface.

HDI 123   Error encountered in trace output file  

The tracing output file has detected an MPE file error.

  This is probably a lack of disc space.  Free disc space and try again.

HDI 124   Tracemap:  procedure ids not ascending  

Procedure IDs must be contiguous and ascending in the TRACEMAP file.

  None necessary.  Tracing can still proceed, although the procedure
names will not appear in the output.

HDI 125   Tracemap:  procedure ids not contiguous (within a subsystem)  

Procedure IDs must be contiguous and ascending in the TRACEMAP file.

  None necessary.  Tracing can still proceed, although the procedure
names will not appear in the output.

HDI 126   Tracemap:  too many subsystem ids (limit is 25)  

Procedure IDs must be contiguous and ascending in the TRACEMAP file.

  None necessary.  Tracing can still proceed, although the procedure
names will not appear in the output.

HDI 127   Tracemap:  First procedure ID not 1  

Procedure IDs must be contiguous and ascending in the TRACEMAP file.

HDI 128   Tracemap:  Unknown Subsystem ID encountered  

The specified trace ID is not in the TRACEMAP file.

  None necessary.  Tracing can still proceed, although the name of this
procedure cannot be determined.

HDI 129   Tracemap:  Unknown Procedure ID encountered  

The specified trace ID is not in the TRACEMAP file.

  None necessary.  Tracing can still proceed, although the name of this
procedure cannot be determined.

HDI 130   Tracemap:  Invalid data segment specified  

System error.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 131   Tracemap:  Cannot Open Trace ID mapping file  

An incorrect filename was specified to the tracing intrinsics.

  None necessary.  Tracing can still continue, although trace names will
not appear in the output.

HDI 132   Error occurred when attempting to open the trace data file  

System error.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 133   Error occurred when reading the trace data file  

System error.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 134   End of file encountered when reading the trace data file  

System error.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 135   Error occurred when calling NMOpenTrace  

You are probably out of disc space.

  Free disc space and try again.

HDI 136   Error occurred when calling NMWriteTrace  

You are probably out of disc space.

  Free disc space and try again.

HDI 137   Error occurred when calling NMCloseTrace  

You are probably out of disc space.

  Free disc space and try again.

HDI 138   This product has no diagnostic  

No diagnostic program was specified when the product was installed, so no
diagnostic tests can be run on this product.

HDI 139   Could not create the diagnostic  

The product diagnostic has been incorrectly installed or the diagnostic
program was purged.

  Check the product configuration (using PPCDIAG.PPC.SYS) and restore the
diagnostic program file named in the configuration.

HDI 140   Could not create the requested Diagnostic Interface  

System error.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 141   File is not a valid program file  

The diagnostic attempted to check the version of a program and found the
file was not a program file.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 142   Entry point not found  

The diagnostic attempted to check the version of a program by entry
point, but the target entry point was not found.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 143   Return statement not at the entry point  

The diagnostic tried to get the version number from a program but was
unable to find it.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 144   Invalid field found in version number  

The version number is not in the correct format.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 145   File has no user label  

An attempt was made to get the version number out of the user label.

  Write down the error number and text and contact your HP
representative.

HDI 146   Node Management end-of-file  

System error.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 147   Module not found  

The desired system component was missing.

  Restore the lost component or contact your HP representative.

HDI 148   "V" portion of versions do not match  

Version numbers do not match.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 149   "UU" portion of versions do not match  

Version numbers do not match.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 150   "FF" portion of versions do not match  

Version numbers do not match.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 151   Invalid module name  

An invalid module name was supplied after a module version number was
requested.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 152   Invalid module flag mode or type options  

A module was specified incorrectly.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 153   Diagnostic program aborted without reply  

The diagnostic program aborted without reporting any reason for the
failure.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 154   Non-existent module  

The specified module was not found.

  Write down the error numbers and messages, then contact your HP
representative.

HDI 155   Invalid info string; info string not passed from interface  

You probably tried to run the diagnostic from the system command
interface instead of from the Host Diagnostic Interface.

  Run the diagnostic from one of the Host Diagnostic Interface programs,
PPCDIAG.PPC.SYS or PPCDIAGC.PPC.SYS.

HDI 156 - HDI 1200    

Not used.

HDI 1201   Catalog message system failure  

An error was encountered when accessing the message catalog.

  Restore the file from a current backup.

HDI 1202    

Not used.

HDI 1203   Unexpected EOF encountered in input  

An end of file was detected on $STDIN.

  Rerun the program.

HDI 1204   Read error encountered on file name; error number number  

An MPE file system error was detected while processing an include file.

  Respond to the file system error and try again.

HDI 1205   Unknown command  

The data typed in is not a supported command.

  Correct and retype your input.

HDI 1206   Maximum "include" nesting depth of number exceeded  

An attempt was made to nest "include" files deeper than allowed.

  Verify that no two include files reference each other, creating a
recursive loop.

HDI 1207   Error in Opening file name; MPE file error number  

An MPE file system error was detected while attempting to open an include
file.

  Respond to the file system error and try again.

HDI 1208   A file name was expected here  

The command syntax requires a filename to be specified.

  Type a filename and proceed.

HDI 1209   No product ID specified and not default product ID  

The command syntax requires that a default product ID be set with the
PRODID command or that you explicitly identify a product with its code.

  Correctly type the product ID. If you don't know what it is, type HELP
to display the product IDs for all configured products.

HDI 1210   Product ID is invalid (possibly too long)  

An invalid product ID was specified.

  Correctly type the product ID. If you don't know what it is, type HELP
to display the product IDs for all configured products.

HDI 1211   No test number given  

The SPECIAL command requires a test number.

  Type the number for the test you wish to run.

HDI 1212   An invalid test number specified; test numbers are numeric 
          1-999  

You typed the test number incorrectly.

  Type a number for the test you wish to run.

HDI 1213   Extraneous data was input; command line ignored  

Extra data was detected.

  Retype the command.

HDI 1214   Executing diagnostic test #number  

HDI 1215    

Not used.

HDI 1216   A product ID or a test number was expected here  

Invalid command syntax.

  Type HELP for correct command syntax.

HDI 1217   Expected either "on" or "off"; command line ignored  

Invalid command syntax.

  Type HELP for correct command syntax.

HDI 1218 - HDI 1219    

Not used.

HDI 1220   Product has no help messages in its catalog  

The message catalog has been corrupted.

  Restore the product's diagnostic catalog file.

HDI 1221 - HDI 1222    

Not used.

HDI 1223   Process creation failed; MPE error status number  

A program could not be created.

  Respond to the MPE error and try again.

HDI 1224    

Not used.

HDI 1225   Expected to find an equal sign ("=")  

Syntax requires the equal sign (=).

  Type HELP for correct syntax.

HDI 1403   Pin not found for RESSHR product.   

You entered ABORTPCUSER with an incorrect PIN number.

  Re-enter the PIN number of the PC user's job you want to abort.

HDI 1409 - HDI 1412    

Not used.

HDI 1413   RESSHR not registered.  To register, run RESMGR and exit.   

Resource Sharing has not been registered as a product entitled to use the
host diagnostics.

  Run RESMGR.PPC.SYS to ensure the RESSHR product is registered.

HDI 1414   Product ID or PIN # expected.   

You entered the ABORTPCUSER without specifying either the product ID or
PIN specified.

  Enter the ABORTPCUSER command with the correct values; for example,
ABORTPCUSER RESSHR 25 where RESSHR is the product ID and 25 is the PIN to
be aborted.

HDI 1415   Common Session ABORTPCUSER error:  nnnn  

An error occurred in the Host Diagnostic Interface.

  Look up the HDI error number in this appendix.

HDI 1416   No PIN # given.   

You entered the ABORTPCUSER command without a PIN #.

  Enter ABORTPCUSER with the PIN # of the PC user's session that you want
to abort.

HDI 1417   Invalid PIN #.   

You entered the ABORTPCUSER command with an alphabetic PIN designation.

  Enter ABORTPCUSER with the appropriate PIN number.

HDI 1418    

Not used.

HDI 1419   Product ID is not configured for Common Session.   

You entered the SHOWPCUSER command with a product ID not registered by
the Host Diagnostic Interface.

  Re-enter the SHOWPCUSER command with the correct Product ID for
Resource Sharing (RESSHR).
