Disc Manager Utility
This section explains errors you may encounter when using the Disc
Manager Utility (DISCMGR).
DM7001 Could not establish physical path connection.
DISCMGR is unable to connect to the shared disc with the pathname you
specified. You have probably specified an incorrect account or group.
Verify the physical path for the shared disc to which you are trying to
connect, then retype the command.
DM7002 Could not establish temporary connection.
DISCMGR is unable to make the temporary connection so it cannot complete
the DOSTOMPE, MPETODOS, or COPY command. You have probably typed an
incorrect account and group, or an incorrect sharename.
Verify that a shared disc exists with the account and group or
sharename you are designating in the command, then try again.
DM7003 Physical pathname contains invalid syntax.
You have typed too many characters in the group and account name for the
temporary connection.
Retype the pathname, using the correct syntax.
DM7004 Drive letter not specified.
You did not identify the shared disc drive to be used.
Switch to the drive you want to use, or include the drive letter in the
command.
DM7005 Connection does not exist for specified drive letter.
Type USE to see the current connections and their drive letters, then
retype your command with the correct drive letter.
DM7006 Specified MPE device class does not exist.
Retype the command with a valid MPE device number or class name.
DM7007 Could not access device information.
DISCMGR is not able to locate the device listed in the file equation.
Make sure you typed the device class name correctly, then try again.
DM7008 Could not open specified back-referenced file equation.
DISCMGR is unable to open the file equation so that your output will be
redirected.
Make sure you typed the file equation correctly, then try again.
DM7009 Specified device is not spooled.
You are trying to redirect the output of the DIR or TYPE command, but the
device you have selected is not a spooled printer.
Redirect the file to a spooled printer.
DM7010 Could not open specified device.
You are trying to redirect the output of the DIR or TYPE command, but
DISCMGR cannot print to the device you specified.
Try again. If the problem persists, read about the MPE error message
that preceded this message.
DM7011 Could not replace the filename.
DISCMGR could not replace the specified file.
Retry the conversion or copy command.
DM7012 Could not read new filename.
The new filename you typed already exists.
Retype the command, using a different filename for the target file.
DM7013 Could not create new file.
Retype the command, using a different filename for the target file.
DM7014 Specified device is invalid.
The device you typed in the redirect file equation is invalid.
Try again, making sure you use a valid device name.
DM7015 Can not open the DMLIST file equation.
DISCMGR cannot open the DMLIST file equation you specified.
Retype the file equation, making sure you type the correct syntax.
DM7016 Can not access DMLIST file equation information.
DISCMGR cannot read the DMLIST file equation.
Retype the file equation, making sure you type the correct syntax.
DM7017 - DM7019
Not used.
DM7020 Could not access file information.
DISCMGR is unable to retrieve file information from your source file.
Read the RSM message that precedes this message for help in determining
the problem. If the problem persists, note the steps that caused the
error and contact your HP representative.
DM7021 Specified directory too long (maximum 8 characters).
The directory name you typed has more than eight characters.
Retype the directory name, using a maximum of eight characters.
DM7022 Already at root directory.
You are trying to go back to the previous directory and you are already
at the root directory.
DM7023 - DM7024
Not used.
DM7025 Can not open specified source file.
Although the source file exists, DISCMGR can't open it.
Read the messages accompanying this message to determine the correct
action.
DM7026 Multiple files to single filename not allowed.
Retype the command. Remember to use wildcards when copying multiple
files. Wildcards are explained in Chapter 12, "Basic Disc Manager
Tasks."
DM7027 - DM7034
Not used.
DM7035 Invalid drive letter specified.
You typed a drive letter that is not an active drive.
Type USE to examine valid drive letters and their connections, then
retype your command.
DM7036 - DM7039
Not used.
DM7040 Conflicting ASCII and BINARY options.
You typed the command options ASCII and BINARY, and they are mutually
exclusive of each other.
Retype the command, eliminating one of the conflicting options.
DM7041 Invalid path.
Retype the command with a valid path.
DM7042 Missing record size.
You typed the command with the RECSIZE option, but you didn't type a
record size.
Retype the command. If you want to indicate record size, add the
option as RECSIZE=number.
DM7043 Missing the word "to" between source and target filenames.
Retype the command with the correct syntax. If you are unsure of the
correct syntax, type HELP commandname to review the syntax.
DM7044 Missing target filename.
You omitted the target filename from the command.
Retype the command, using a valid target filename.
DM7045 DISCMGR does not support MPE to MPE file copies.
DM7046 Invalid option specified.
The ASCII, BINARY, and RECSIZE options are only used for converting files
from DOS to MPE. DISCMGR ignores these options if they are used in other
commands.
Retype the command without using these options.
DM7047 Sharename too long (maximum 8 characters).
The sharename you typed has more than eight characters.
Retype the sharename using a maximum of eight characters.
DM7048 Unknown option.
You typed an option incorrectly.
Retype the command, using the correct option. If you are unsure of the
correct syntax for the option, type HELP commandname to review the
syntax.
DM7049 Sharename password too long (maximum 8 characters).
Retype the password with a maximum of eight characters.
DM7050 Missing source filename.
You omitted the source filename from the command.
Retype the command, including a valid source filename.
DM7051 - DM7054
Not used.
DM7055 Unknown DISCMGR command.
You typed the command incorrectly.
Retype the command. If you are unsure of the correct syntax, type HELP
commandname to review the syntax.
DM7056 Unknown MPE command.
You typed the command incorrectly. It may be either an invalid DISCMGR
command or (since you have set COLON OFF) an invalid MPE command.
Retype the command, making sure you type it correctly and you use
proper syntax.
DM7057 Error encountered while executing MPE command.
The MPE command you typed could not be executed.
Read the messages accompanying this message to determine the correct
action.
DM7058 - DM7059
Not used.
DM7060 Requested message catalog is unavailable.
The message catalog corresponding to the user language ID is unavailable.
DISCMGR used the message catalog corresponding to the system language ID,
if it was available, or it used the native language of the system.
Check that the user language ID is set properly. Then make sure a
message catalog exists for that language.
DM7061 - DM7079
Not used.
DM7080 Too many parameters.
You typed the command with too many parameters.
Retype the command. If you are unsure of the correct syntax, type HELP
commandname to review the syntax.
DM7081 Invalid syntax.
Retype the command. If you are unsure of the correct syntax, type HELP
commandname to review the syntax.
DM7082 Specified path contains too many characters.
The pathname you typed has too many characters.
Retype the command with a correct pathname. If you are unsure of the
correct syntax, type HELP commandname to review the syntax.
DM7083 Unknown file type.
The file type associated with the directory or file is unrecognized.
Try the command again.
DM7084
Not used.
DM7085 Could not read automatic connection file.
DISCMGR cannot read your automatic connection file.
Try again. If the error reoccurs, purge your existing automatic
connection file and create a new one.
DM7086 Could not read the command. FATAL ERROR !!
DISCMGR is not communicating properly from the workstation to the HP
3000.
Read the messages accompanying this one for more information. If the
problem persists, write down the error message, then contact your HP
representative.
DM7087 Could not write the prompt. FATAL ERROR !!
DISCMGR is not communicating properly.
Read the messages accompanying this one for more information, then
contact your HP representative.
DM7088 - DM7100
Not used.
DM7101 Must specify subdirectories when using TREE option.
You are using the TREE option, but you didn't specify the subdirectory in
either the target or source pathname.
Retype the command with the complete pathname for the target and source
files, including the appropriate subdirectories.
DM7102 Could not retrieve next directory entry.
The COPY command with the TREE option failed while searching for the next
entry in the source directory.
Run the CHKDISC diagnostic on the source disc, then try again.
DM7103 Could not open directory.
DISCMGR found the directory for the copy but could not open it.
Check the RSM error message accompanying this message for more
information. If you can't solve the problem, note the steps you
performed when the problem occurred and contact your HP representative.
DM7104 Could not close directory.
DISCMGR found the directory for the copy but could not close it.
Check the RSM error message accompanying this message for more
information. If you can't solve the problem, note the steps you
performed when the problem occurred and contact your HP representative.
DM7105 Could not disconnect from temporary source connection.
Although DISCMGR completed the copy you specified, it could not
disconnect the temporary connection to the shared disc.
No action necessary.
DM7106 Could not disconnect from temporary target connection.
Although DISCMGR completed the copy you specified, it could not
disconnect the temporary connection to the shared disc.
No action necessary.
DM7107 Could not create target file.
You typed the pathname of the target file incorrectly.
Retype the command. If you are unsure of the correct syntax, type HELP
commandname to review the syntax.
DM7108 Could not close source file.
The copy completed, but DISCMGR could not close the source file.
No action necessary, but you may want to refer to the RSM error message
preceding this one for more information.
DM7109 Could not close target file.
DISCMGR was unable to complete the copy because it could not close the
target file.
Check the RSM error message preceding this message for more
information. If you can't solve the problem, note the steps you
performed when the problem occurred and contact your HP representative.
DM7110 Could not read data from source file.
The copy was not completed because DISCMGR could not read the source
file.
Check the RSM error message preceding this message for more
information. If you can't solve the problem, note the steps you
performed when the problem occurred and contact your HP representative.
DM7111 Could not write data to target file.
The copy was not completed because DISCMGR could not write to the target
file.
Check the RSM error message preceding this message for more
information. If you can't solve the problem, note the steps you
performed when the problem occurred and contact your HP representative.
DM7112 Could not create target directory.
Some of the copy may have been completed, but DISCMGR had trouble with a
part of the TREE option.
Check the RSM error message preceding this message for more
information. You may want to check the destination to see what files
were copied.
DM7113 Could not delete source file.
The MOVE option was not performed because DISCMGR was unable to delete
the source file.
Leave the DISCMGR option and try to delete the source file from DOS or
MPE.
DM7114 Could not search directory.
DISCMGR encountered errors as it was expanding the source file descriptor
of wildcards or directory names into individual filenames.
Check the RSM error message accompanying this message for more
information. If you can't solve the problem, note the steps you
performed when the problem occurred and contact your HP representative.
DM7115 Could not read reply.
You interrupted the copy with CTRL Y and now DISCMGR is having trouble
reading your reply.
No action necessary.
DM7116 Copy cancelled. Could not delete target file.
Since you cancelled the copy, DISCMGR is trying to delete the new file
but is having trouble.
You may want to use the DEL command to delete the new file.
DM7117 Could not set file creation time.
For some reason DISCMGR is unable to assign the new file's creation time
to the same as the source file's creation time. Instead, the new file
will have the current time assigned as the creation time.
DM7118 TREE option invalid because target is a subdirectory of the
source.
You are trying to copy files with the TREE option, and the target
directory is under the source directory in the tree structure.
You cannot copy with the TREE option where the target directory is
under the source directory.
DM7119 - DM7200
Not used.
DM7201 Directory name specified instead of filename.
You typed a directory name, rather than a filename.
Retype the command using a valid filename.
DM7202 Could not find specified file.
The filename you typed does not exist.
Retype the command using an existing filename.
DM7203 Could not retrieve file information.
The DO file is an MPE file, and FLABELINFO failed. FLABELINFO was being
called to get information about the file before opening it.
Check the error message accompanying this message for more information.
If you can't solve the problem, note the steps you performed when the
problem occurred and contact your HP representative.
DM7204 Could not open specified command file.
DISCMGR could not open the DO file, which is either an MPE file or shared
disc file.
Check the error message accompanying this message for more information.
DM7205 DO file type must have fixed-length ASCII records.
The MPE DO file must have fixed-length ASCII records. This DO file has
variable length records.
Re-create your DO file with Editor, which uses fixed-length ASCII.
DM7206 Exceeded maximum DO file nesting (maximum = 5).
DO files can be nested five deep.
Eliminate some of the nested DO files and try again.
DM7207 Could not read from DO file.
DISCMGR found the DO file but was unable to read it.
Try again. Read the message preceding this one for more information.
DM7208 Could not close DO file.
DISCMGR found the DO file but was unable to close it.
Read the message preceding this one for more information.
DM7209 Could not echo the command.
Although you have set ECHO ON, DISCMGR cannot echo the command.
If you have also set IGNORE ON, DISCMGR will continue processing the DO
file.
DM7210 Specified DO file record size is too large.
You specified a shared disc filename that also exists as an MPE filename
and that file's record size is too large. You may also have specified an
MPE DO file whose record size is too large.
Rename the shared disc file so that it does not conflict with the MPE
filename, or re-create the MPE file with a record size less than 255.
DM7211 DO file contains a command with too many characters.
You specified a file that does not contain commands, or the correct name
was specified but the file contains a command that is longer than that
allowed.
Make sure you specified a shared disc file containing DISCMGR commands.
Edit the file so that it does not contain a command with more than 255
characters.
DM7212 - DM7300
Not used.
DM7301 Drive has been disconnected already.
The drive you are trying to disconnect has already been disconnected.
DM7302 Expected /D.
You specified an incomplete USE command. USE * is not a valid command.
If you are trying to delete all your connections, retype the command
with /D at the end (USE * /D).
DM7303 Expected node name after '\\'.
You did not type a node name after the \\. You may have typed three
backslashes instead of two (\\\).
Retype the command with the correct server or node name.
DM7304 Drive letter was not specified.
You omitted the drive letter from the command.
Retype the command. If you are unsure of the correct syntax, type HELP
USE to review the syntax.
DM7305 Sharename was not specified.
Retype the command, including a valid sharename. If you are unsure of
the correct syntax, type HELP USE to review the syntax.
DM7306 Node name contains too many characters.
The node name you typed is greater than 47 characters.
A correct node name consists of 15 characters for the server, 15
characters for the domain, and 15 characters for the organization, in
this format: servername.domain.organization. Type the node name
correctly. If you wish, you can type only the server name.
DM7307 No drive connections are currently established.
You are trying to delete your connections to shared discs and no discs
are connected.
DM7308 Password too long (maximum 8 characters).
You typed a password with more than eight characters.
Retype the command with a correct password.
DM7309 Sharename password too long (maximum 8 characters).
You typed a password with more than eight characters.
Retype the command with a correct password.
DM7310 Sharename too long (maximum 8 characters).
You typed a sharename with more than eight characters.
Retype the command with a correct sharename.
DM7311 Expected a space between drive letter and sharename.
A space is required between the drive letter and the sharename. Type
HELP USE to examine valid syntax.
DM7312 Invalid USE command syntax.
You typed the USE command incorrectly.
Retype the command. If you are unsure of the correct syntax, type HELP
USE to review the syntax.
DM7313 Could not establish connection to specified shared disc.
DISCMGR was unable to connect to the shared disc you typed.
Make sure you typed the sharename correctly. Refer to the online help
for correct syntax.
DM7314 Could not disconnect from specified drive.
You typed a command to disconnect from the drive, but DISCMGR is not able
to complete the disconnection.
This message is preceded by another message that may give you more
information. Try again or exit from DISCMGR.
DM7315 Can not connect to node other than host.
DISCMGR can connect only to a shared disc on the current server.
DM7316 - DM7400
Not used.
DM7401 Unknown environment parameter.
You typed the SWITCH command incorrectly (the setting name is
misspelled).
Type HELP SWITCH to review the correct syntax, then retype the command.
DM7402 Must specify ON or OFF.
Retype the command, specifying ON or OFF.
DM7403 - DM7500
Not used.
DM7501 Could not RUN specified program.
Some programs cannot be run within DISCMGR.
DM7502 Could not RUN program. DISCMGR must have PH capability.
DISCMGR does not have Process Handling (PH) capability, which is needed
to execute the RUN command. Exit DISCMGR and run the program again, then
contact your HP representative.
DM7503 Could not RUN program because of insufficient system resources.
While attempting to create the program, the system could not obtain
enough resources.
Exit DISCMGR to run the program.
DM7504 Specified program does not exist.
The program name you typed does not exist.
Retype the command, making sure you type a valid program name.
DM7505 Could not RUN program. Invalid or nonexistent entry name.
The entry parameter of the RUN command does not exist or was incorrectly
specified.
Retype the command making sure you type the entry name correctly.
DM7506 Invalid program filename specified.
Retype the command, making sure you type the program name correctly and
use proper syntax.
DM7507 Could not RUN program. Maximum stack size exceeded.
In a compatibility mode program you are running, the sum of the DLSIZE,
STACKSIZE, and total DB space is greater than the MAXDATA parameter.
Specify parameters that are not greater than the MAXDATA parameter.
DM7508 Could not RUN program. Hard load error occurred.
DISCMGR was unable to load the program due to a hard load error.
Exit from DISCMGR, then run the program. If the program still fails to
run, read the load errors. If the problem persists, contact your HP
representative.
DM7509 Could not RUN program. DISCMGR specified illegal priority
class.
DISCMGR specified a higher priority class than it has the capability to
specify.
Specify a lower priority class in the RUN command, then run the program
again.
DM7510 Invalid RUN command specified.
You typed the command incorrectly or used invalid options.
Review the command syntax and retype the command.
DM7511 Numeric value expected, or value out of valid range.
You typed an alpha character, or the number you typed is out of the
allowed range.
Retype the value, using a valid number.
DM7512 Unknown RUN option specified.
The option you specified for the RUN command is invalid.
Retype the command, using valid options such as PARM, INFO, or STDLIST.
DM7513 MAXDATA option incorrectly specified.
Your RUN command contains a syntax error. Non-blank characters are not
permitted between MAXDATA and the equal sign (=).
Retype the command, using valid syntax.
DM7514 Equal sign (=) not specified in library (LIB) option.
You specified the LIB option, but you did not include an equal sign.
Retype the command with valid LIB option syntax
(LIB=G, P, or S).
DM7515 Legal library (LIB) names are G, P, and S.
You used the LIB option, but didn't specify a valid library name.
Retype the command with a valid library name.
DM7516 Equal sign (=) not specified in INFO option.

You issued a RUN command with the XL= option and you didn't delimit the
XL name with quotes.
Type the command again, making sure you put quotes around the XL name.
DM7531 Equal sign (=) not specified in XL option.
You issued a RUN command using the XL option and you didn't separate XL
and XL name with an equal sign.
Type the command again, making sure you include an equal sign to
separate XL and the name.
DM7532 Equal sign (=) not specified in NMSTACK option.
You issued a RUN command using the NMSTACK option and you didn't separate
NMSTACK and the value with an equal sign.
Type the command again, making sure you include an equal sign between
NMSTACK and the value.
DM7533 Equal sign (=) not specified in NMHEAP option.
You issued a RUN command using the NMHEAP option and you didn't separate
NMHEAP and the value with an equal sign.
Type the command again, making sure you include an equal sign between
NMHEAP and the value.
DM7534 - DM7600
Not used.
DM7601 Unable to create specified directory.
DISCMGR is unable to create the directory, probably because the directory
name you typed is invalid.
Retype the command with a valid directory name.
DM7602 Specified filename exists already.
Retype the command with a different directory name.
DM7603 Invalid syntax.
If you are unsure of the correct syntax, type HELP MKDIR to review the
syntax. Retype the command.
DM7604 Could not create subdirectory, path is too long.
The path for the subdirectory that you want to create exceeds 64
characters, which is the maximum allowed.
Do not specify a pathname greater than 64 characters.
DM7605 - DM7700
Not used.
DM7701 Unable to remove specified directory.
DISCMGR cannot remove the directory; either it contains files or you
typed the command incorrectly.
Make sure the directory you want to remove contains no files, then
retype the command.
DM7702 Specified directory does not exist.
Retype the command with a valid directory name.
DM7703 Filename specified instead of directory name.
You typed a filename, rather than a directory name.
Retype the command using a valid directory name.
DM7704 Can not remove the current directory.
Change directories, then retype the command.
DM7705 - DM7800
Not used.
DM7801 Invalid directory name specified.
You typed a directory name that does not exist.
Retype the command using an existing directory name.
DM7802 Could not change directory, path is too long.
You specified a pathname to a subdirectory you want to change, and the
pathname exceeds the maximum of 64 characters.
Do not enter a pathname to a subdirectory that exceeds 64 characters.
DM7803 - DM7900
Not used.
DM7901 Could not find specified file.
The filename you typed does not exist, or is in a different directory.
Make sure you are in the directory containing the file you want to
remove, then retype the command.
DM7902 Directory name specified instead of filename.
You typed a directory name rather than a filename.
Retype the command using a valid filename.
DM7903 Unable to delete specified file.
You tried to delete a file that does not exist.
Make sure you typed the filename correctly.
DM7904 Command has been cancelled.
DM7905 Could not read reply.
DISCMGR asked you to confirm the deletion, and it could not read your
reply.
Retype the command.
DM7906 - DM8000
Not used.
DM8001 Directory name specified instead of filename.
You indicated you wanted to rename a directory, rather than a filename.
Retype the command using a valid filename. If you want to rename a
directory, use the RENDIR command.
DM8002 File to be renamed could not be found.
You typed a filename that does not exist, or you typed the pathname
incorrectly.
Retype the command. If you are unsure of the correct syntax, type HELP
RENAME to review the syntax.
DM8003 File could not be renamed.
Check the error message accompanying this message for more information.
The file may be in use by another user, or the new file already exists.
You could also have a security violation or incorrect syntax.
DM8004 A file already exists with the specified name.
You tried to rename a file to a filename that already exists.
Retype the command with a different filename, or delete the existing
file before you use that name in the RENAME command.
DM8005 A directory already exists with the specified name.
The new filename you typed already exists as the name of a subdirectory.
Retype the command using a valid filename.
DM8006 New filename contains incorrect syntax.
The filename you typed as the new filename contains invalid characters ([
] / \).
Retype the command with a valid filename.
DM8007 - DM8100
Not used.
DM8101 Filename specified instead of directory name.
You typed a filename to be renamed, rather than a directory.
Retype the command using a valid directory name. If you want to rename
a file, use the RENAME command.
DM8102 Could not find directory to be renamed.
The directory name you typed does not exist. You probably typed it
incorrectly.
Retype the command with an existing directory name.
DM8103 Directory could not be renamed.
Check the accompanying error messages for more information. You may
have typed invalid syntax or you have incorrect permissions. Other
possible causes are other users are using this directory, or the new
directory name you entered already exists.
DM8104 New directory name contains incorrect syntax.
The new directory name you typed contains invalid characters ([]/\).
Retype the command with a valid directory name.
DM8105 - DM8200
Not used.
DM8201 Connection to specified drive letter does not exist.
You must be connected to the drive before you can examine its directory.
Connect to the directory first with the USE command, then type the DIR
command.
DM8202 Drive letter not specified.
You must specify the drive letter in the path, or switch to that drive
before typing the DIR command.
DM8203 Could not close back-referenced file.
You are redirecting the output with a back-referenced file equation and
DISCMGR is unable to close the file (the FCLOSE failed on the output
file).
Try again. If the problem persists, read the accompanying error
messages for more information.
DM8204 Could not search directory.
Check the RSM error message preceding this message for more
information. If you can't solve the problem, note the steps you
performed when the problem occurred and contact your HP representative.

You are trying to delete your connections and DISCMGR is unable to read
your reply to its prompt asking you to confirm the deletion.
Try the command again.
DM8503 Specified filename is not an automatic connection file.
An attempt was made to open a file that doesn't contain the automatic
connection file code.
Make sure the filename you specified and/or the file named AUTOCONN are
existing autoconnect files.
DM8504 - DM8600
Not used.
DM8601 Could not close source file.
The conversion probably completed, but DISCMGR is unable to close the
source MPE file that you were converting to DOS.
Check the accompanying error messages for more information.
DM8602 Could not create list file for wildcard transfer.
To perform wildcard MPETODOS conversions, DISCMGR programmatically
performs the MPE LISTF command to a temporary file called LISTFILE. For
some reason, DISCMGR was unable to perform the FILE or LISTF command.
Check for a temporary file called LISTFILE. If you find this file,
purge it before trying the command again. You may want to check the
accompanying error message for more information.
DM8603 Could not open list file for wildcard transfer.
Since you are transferring several files, DISCMGR first builds a list of
files to be transferred, based on the wildcards you typed. For some
reason, it is unable to open this file.
Check for a temporary file called LISTFILE. If you find this file,
purge it before trying the command again. You may want to check the MPE
error message preceding this message for more information.
DM8604 No files found.
You used wildcards in the command and DISCMGR is unable to find any files
matching the wildcards.
Retype the command, making sure you specify the wildcard filenames
correctly.
DM8605 Could not determine next file to transfer.
You are converting several files and DISCMGR can't determine which file
to convert next.
Some of the files may be converted. Determine which still need to be
converted and try again.
DM8606 Could not determine number of entries to transfer.
When performing MPETODOS conversions with wildcards, DISCMGR performs the
LISTF command to a file called LISTFILE. DISCMGR encountered an error
while reading LISTFILE to determine how many files to convert, or while
rewinding the file after counting the entires.

DM8607 Specified source file does not exist.
Retype the command, making sure you type a valid MPE filename for the
source file.
DM8608 Could not access source file information.
The MPETODOS conversion was not completed because DISCMGR was unable to

that is not large enough. The shared disc file contained a number of
consecutive characters without a carriage return that is larger than the
specified MPE record size.
Make sure that you want an ASCII conversion, If so, specify a larger
record size.
DM8717 - DM8800

Before you can use the SAVECONNECT command, you must have one more more
connections established.
