NOTE If your system does not have any printers, skip to the next
section, "Identifying and Installing Your User Terminals."

You can connect several types of Hewlett-Packard printers to your
computer. Locate the shipping box that contains the printer that you
ordered. The product number should be printed on the box or attached
label.
You also need to locate the shipping box that contains your printer cable
since it is shipped in a separate box.
To familiarize yourself with the printer
Before you begin unpacking the printer from its shipping box, it is
important that you get assistance in lifting the printer.
Refer to the documentation located inside the printer shipping box for
details on that particular printer. When all of the parts of the printer
are identified, proceed with connecting the printer to the HP 2340A DTC.
To connect the printer
1. Be sure the ON/OFF switch is in the OFF position.
2. Connect the power cord to the printer.
3. Connect the printer cable to the connector labeled "serial
interface" on the printer. Connect the other end of the printer
cable to the HP 2340A connector labeled Port 5 on the Slot #1
Modem Connect card. See Figure 2-20
4. Fasten the screw on either side of the connector so that the cable
is firmly attached.
