HP Predictive Support User's Guide For HP 3000 Series 900

Chapter 4  Customization

Introduction

HP Predictive Support has a menu-driven interactive user interface,
psconfig, which allows you to modify the default values or enter other
configuration changes for:

   * Transfer information, such as number of transfer attempts and wait
       period between attempts

   *   Customer information

   *   Peripheral device coverage

   *   Memory board coverage

   *   Automatic scheduler

   * Report frequency and output destination

NOTE All configuration activities must be conducted through psconfig.
The psconfig Menu Hierarchy The psconfig interface consists of several menus in a four-level hierarchy (Figure 4-1). Access to lower-level menus and configuration fields is through higher-level menus. Item Key Command Each menu item is numbered. You can bypass upper-level menus and go directly to a lower-level menu or configuration field. Only item numbers or item keys that follow a direct menu path according to the psconfig hierarchy are valid; all others are not. For example, from the psconfig Main Menu, you can type 4, press the space bar, type 1, and then press Return to display the Configure Customer Information Menu. You can also type configure, press the space bar, type customer, and then press Return.
