Preparing to Fly over the Data You can use the HP 3000's EXTRACT program to extract only the data you want for your first-level analysis. The resulting logfile is called RXLOG. We extracted data hourly to produce the global and application graphs for the entire interval and placed this data into RXLOG. The size of the RXLOG logfile is only 3.1 Mbytes, or about one twentieth of the original. To ready RXLOG for analysis, we transferred the file to a PC and renamed it TRAPPER.PRF. For this exercise, you will find TRAPPER.PRF on the HP LaserRX/MPE CD.
