HP LaserRX/MPE: A Journey of Discovery
Starting the Engine
Your role as an observer is now over, and you can start the HP
LaserRX/MPE program. Insert the HP LaserRX/MPE CD into drive L of the PC
that has HP LaserRX/MPE installed on it. Start the program by doing the
following:
1. At the MS-DOS prompt, type CD \LASERRX and press Enter.
2. Type WIN /R LASERRX and press Enter.
This starts HP LaserRX/MPE in the real mode.
Your first step is an overall look at the TRAPPER system. You want to
identify areas or times that you should exam more closely.
Open the TRAPPER logfile:
1. Select Open Local from the File menu.
This displays the Open Local dialog box.
2. Select the CD-ROM drive in the Directories box.
Usually the CD-ROM drive will be designated [-L-].
3. Double click the CD-ROM drive (for example, -L-).
The CD's directory replaces the original Directories list. The
directory designator above the Directories box changes to L:.
4. Select the LOGFILES directory.
The designator changes to L:\LOGFILES, and several file names
appear in the Files box.
5. Double click the TRAPPER.PRF file.
Tip You can open this file quickly by selecting Open Local from the File
menu, then typing L:\LOGFILES\TRAPPER.PRF in the Filename box and
pressing Enter.
Use the Options dialog box to select two display options:
1. Select the Options command from the Configure menu.
a. Make sure the Log Scaling box is not checked (does not
contain an X). If it does contain an X, click the box to
disable Log Scaling.
b. Enable Solid in the Stacked Graph Fill option.
c. Click OK.
