Securing Your Magneto-Optical Disks 

Each optical disk cartridge has a write-protect tab on the corner of the
cartridge (refer to item 1 in Figure 3-2  for the location of the
write-protect tab).


NOTE  Do not use the write-protect tab.  If the write-protect tab is set,
      the disk is unusable by STORE/iX II for both STOREs and RESTOREs.
      In addition, if the write-protect tab is set, applications that use
      the Magneto-Optical AIFs may not be able to access files on the
      disk.


For data safety, STORE/iX II will not write to an optical disk unless it
has been "scratched" using the SCRATCH command of MOUTIL (see "Scratching
Disks"  for details).
