HP Motif/iX System Administrator's Supplement
Server Kills Client Window
Message
RECEIVED A GRACEFUL RELEASE OF THE CONNECTION. (SOCKERR 68)
Possible cause
You may encounter this when executing a program that does not use Xt.
This occurs when the user has requested that the client be "closed"
through the window manager for example, when the window manager is the HP
Motif Window Manager (mwm) and you choose Close from the default menu of
the window.
You may also encounter this message if the server dies after the client
is successfully connected.
Action
Here is a list of things that you may do:
* Verify that the X display server is functioning correctly on the
workstation.
* Use Xt to ensure that the Close option of the window manager is
handled more gracefully.
* Inform the user that he or she should use your method for exiting
the application, rather than the Close function of the window
manager.
