Parameter
dtcnum
The DTC number TermDSM associates with a particular DTC. The DTC command
lists each DTC with its assigned number.
Range: 1 - n, where n is the total number of DTCs configured
on the system.
Description
After entering the DTC subcommand, the following is printed on the
terminal:
Warning: This will reset all users on that DTC. As
many as 48 terminal users could be affected.
(TDSM 44) Do you want to continue (yes/no)?
If you answer no to this question, you will be returned to the reset
prompt. If you answer yes, the reset continues and the following
messages are displayed:
The reset operation can take as long as 7 minutes.
The reset operation causes a DTC selftest to occur.
The DTC subcommand causes a complete DTC selftest to be run. This
selftest includes the selftests for each of the interface cards within
the DTC. All jobs or sessions that are running on devices connected to
the DTC are aborted.
NOTE The RESET DTC subcommand is functionally identical to the SELFTEST
DTC subcommand of the TermDSM DIAG command. The inclusion of both
commands is for your convenience.
If the selftest completes successfully, the results of each of the card
selftests will be displayed. Refer to the SICsubcommand for the
explanation of these results.
The DTC software is then downloaded to the DTC so that users may again
use devices connected to the DTC. If you are running TermDSM at the
system console, you will receive informational messages relating to this
download.
You will then be returned to the reset prompt and may enter another RESET
subcommand.

In the above example, DTC number two is reset. The results of the card
selftests show that there are three cards in the DTC (in the first three
slots) and each of the three passes its selftest. The first and second
cards are RS-232-C direct connect cards and card number two is a modem
card. Refer to the SIC subcommand for information on how to interpret
the results of the card selftest.
