SHELL CFG and NET.CFG 

The NET.CFG (or SHELL.CFG) files are ASCII text files that can be created
in a text editor.  Place the NET.CFG file in the same directory as your
NetWare client shell files.

If you have Windows on your PC, or, are using multiple protocol stacks,
you must use NET.CFG. 

Review the chapters describing SHELL.CFG and NET.CFG in the Installation 
(J2240-61001) manual provided with NetWare/iX to determine if you need to
create these files for your client environment.  For more information on
NET.CFG see the Novell NetWare Workstation for DOS manual.  The SHELL.CFG
was the first client configuration file used with SHGEN and WSGEN.
Parameters in SHELL.CFG can be specified in NET.CFG.
