Netware 3.11 for the HP 3000 Installing and Administering Guide

Problems

If you receive the message:

A file server could not be found.

This message can indicate a conflict in the frame type between the file
server and the client. If you changed the default for NetWare/iX to
Ethernet II, you must also change the client to support Ethernet II. Use
ECONFIG to update IPX.COM as described in Chapter 7, Advanced
Configuration.

If you cannot find the network drive:

   1. Check the CONFIG.SYS file for the statement LASTDRIVE=.

The network drive is the next letter after the drive specified
with LASTDRIVE. For example, if LASTDRIVE is set to E then the
network drive is F. Make sure that LASTDRIVE is not set to Z.

   2. Reboot the PC if you change the CONFIG.SYS file then try running
       IPX and NETX again.

If you have other problems, see Chapter 9, Troubleshooting.
