The Architected Interface Facility (HP36374A) is a group of services
targeted for use by software suppliers and external solutions creators.
These services allow easy and high performance access and manipulation of
system processes and information.
USING THE ARCHITECTED INTERFACE FACILITY
The Architected Interface Facility gives software developers the means to
optimize for MPE XL features and functions easily and realiably. The
following table summarizes the features and benefits of the product.

All MPE XL customers will benefit from software solutions using the
Architected Interface Facility. Currently, much of the functionality
available with this product can only be accomplished through use of
unsupported Privilege Mode routines. By migrating to the Architected
Interface Facility you will gain:

SOFTWARE COMPONENTS
The Architected Interface Facility provides information access to MPE XL
table structures in the following areas:
* Jobs/Sessions
* Processes
* Files
* System Configuration
* Accounting
* Spoolfiles
In addition to providing information access, both read and write to the
above tables, the Architected Interface Facility also provides
programmatic access to the Native Mode Spooler and Ports functionality.
