DATA COMMUNICATIONS
XL Release 2.0 introduces LU 6.2 API/XL. LU 6.2 API/XL implements the IBM
LU 6.2 programmatic interface. This interface gives you the ability to
develop applications that are distributed between an HP 3000 and an IBM
host.
RJE/XL is now available on MPE XL. This software subsystem allows an HP
3000 MPE XL Operating System to emulate the major features of an IBM 2780
or IBM 3780 workstation.
Binary Synchronous Communications Link (BSC) combines with RJE/XL to
provide batch communications access between a 900 Series HP 3000 MPE XL
Operating System and an IBM System 370 compatible mainframe using IBM BSC
protocol.
With the introduction of HP SNA DHCF/XL, you can access HP 3000 systems
from an IBM 3270 terminal.
The Distributed Terminal Controller (DTC) offers two new enhancements to
further increase functionality and performance. DTC/Terminal Access,
which supports terminal switching and DTC/X.25 Network Link, which
includes the X.25 connection for HP 3000 Series 900 systems.
