To familiarize yourself with the UPS

The switches and indicator lights on the UPS front panel
The following table describes the switches and indicator lights on the
front panel of the UPS.
1. AC Output A green light--indicates that normal power
(AC) is being supplied to the receptacles
in the back.
2. Battery Power A yellow light--indicates the unit is
supplying power during abnormal power (AC)
conditions.
3. Attention A yellow light--indicates unit needs
attention. This indicator light, in
conjunction with the audible alarm, can
have several meanings:
Light ON:
* Charger fail: the internal
batteries will not charge to
capacity.
* Overload shutdown: Excessive
overload causes the unit to
shutdown.
* System fail: the unit has failed
its calibration selftest.
A flashing light indicates an
overload condition. With too much
equipment connected to the unit,
the light will flash
once-per-second and sound an
audible alarm.
4. Silence Alarm/Test A switch--if the unit is supplying power
during abnormal AC conditions, an audible
alarm sounds, pressing this switch
silences this alarm. The TEST portion of
this switch can be used to switch the unit
from AC operation to battery operation
under controlled conditions.
5. Output On/Output A switch--controls the output receptacles
Off in the back of the unit.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
| Audible alarm | The audible alarm is located inside the |
| | unit and is used in conjunction with the |
| | Attention light and the Test switch. |
| | There are three conditions that activate |
| | the audible alarm: |
| | |
| | 1. Pushing the Test switch |
| | |
| | 2. AC power fail and unit switches to |
| | battery power. |
| | |
| | 3. Attention light comes on. This could |
| | be for an overload condition or a low |
| | battery warning indicating two minutes |
| | until battery depletion. |
| | |
| | The beep sequence for the alarm is based |
| | on a half (0.5) second interval timed at |
| | 10 seconds per sequence. For example, a |
| | one beep alarm sounds for 0.5 seconds and |
| | is off for 9.5 seconds, then repeats. A |
| | three beep alarm sounds three beeps (of |
| | 0.5 seconds on, 0.5 seconds off) then off |
| | for 7 seconds, then repeats. |
