Viewing the Status of CD-ROM Disks
To check on the status of the CD-ROM disks, you can use the DSTAT
command. For example, this is the DSTAT output for an MPE/iX CD-ROM
disk:
____________________________________________________________________

:DSTAT
LDEV-TYPE STATUS VOLUME (VOLUME SET - GEN)
---------- -------- --------------------------
4-CD-ROM LONER HPINSTAL (MPE_C.50.00_1-0)

____________________________________________________________________
As shown in the example, the command output lists:
* the logical device number (LDEV 4) and type (CD-ROM)
* the drive status
* MASTER-RO means the disk is mounted and the volume set is
open
* LONER means the disk is mounted and the volume set is
closed
* the volume name (HPINSTAL)
* the volume set name (MPE_C.50.00_1)
After VSCLOSE has closed the volume set (and for SCSI drives, AVRSCSI has
dismounted the disk), then the DSTAT command will not have any output.
The DSTAT command shows the following for a LaserROM CD-ROM disk.
_____________________________________________________________________

:DSTAT
LDEV-TYPE STATUS VOLUME (VOLUME SET - GEN)
---------- -------- --------------------------
4-CD-ROM UNKNOWN CDROM4 (ISO:HP ROMBO-0)
