Setting Up Your System For Installation

Before you can install the client software on a PC, you must do the
following:

   * Install the TCP/IP networking software on the client PC.

To install the networking software, refer to your network
documentation, or check with your system administrator.

If you are using WRQ 3000 Connection, you will need to have
sockets support. You can use WRQHPSO.EXE (one of the files
delivered with WRQ 3000 Connection) to provide this support. For
information on installing WRQHPSO.EXE, refer to your WRQ 3000
       Connection documentation.

   * Install the server software on your HP 3000 system, and verify
       that the software is operational.

   * Run CDSERVER on your HP 3000 system.

You must be running CDSERVER to install the client software. If
you don't have System Manager capability or Operator capability
(with Save Files capability for PUB.SYS), have your system
       administrator run CDSERVER.

   * Include your HP 3000 system hostname and IP address in the HOSTS
       file on your PC.

For example, for LAN Manager 2.2, the HOSTS file is located in the
directory C:\LANMAN\ETC. For WRQ, the HOSTS file is by default
located in the same directory as the WRQ software.
