Information Access in Brief
Information Access consists of Information Access SQL/iX, Information
Access SQL/UX, Information Access Server, and Information Access for
Windows. Information Access allows users of PC workstations to access
information residing on HP 3000 or HP 9000 systems, depending on which
server is used, as well as to access PC-resident databases.
* Information Access SQL/iX is the HP 3000-based SQL server running
on MPE/iX.
* Information Access SQL/UX is the HP 9000-based SQL server running
on HP-UX.
* Information Access Server is the HP 3000-based data server running
on MPE V and MPE/iX.
* Information Access for Windows is the graphical interface PC-based
software with which users retrieve, manipulate, and save
information, locally or on HP 3000 or HP 9000 systems.
Information Access takes full advantage of HP NewWave and
Microsoft Windows features.
NOTE In this manual, Access SQL/iX, Information Access, and Access
Server are used as shorthand terms for Information Access SQL/iX,
Information Access for Windows, and Information Access Server,
respectively.
