Chapter 1 Welcome!
Welcome to Micro Focus COBOL! With this COBOL system you can develop
COBOL applications for a variety of UNIX operating systems.
You can easily migrate COBOL applications from many other systems and
dialects, including IBM mainframe COBOL.
This product belongs to the Micro Focus COBOL Toolbox range, which
includes two products: COBOL and COBOL Toolbox (the combined product
being called COBOL Toolbox). Users who already have Micro Focus COBOL
can buy Toolbox as an add-on to give a complete Toolbox system.
You will find occasional references in these books to the add-on
products. These are a range of further products available for use with
the Micro Focus COBOL Toolbox range. An example is Dialog System. See
your sales representative for details.
