Starting Data Collection 

To collect performance data you must run the HP SPT/XL software and
access the Collection Menu.

> Type RUN SPT.PUB.SYS at the MPE (:)  prompt.  HP SPT/XL's Main Menu
appears:

> Select the  Collect function key.  The Collection Menu appears:

The Collection Menu allows you to specify the program or process to
monitor.  From this screen you can also review or set (change) user
controllable data collection options, such as the logfile name.


NOTE  Once a program is selected and monitoring begins, the options
      active at that time are used.  If you want to review or change
      collection options, do this BEFORE you select the program to
      monitor (see "Collection Options").
