HP Resource Sharing for MPE/iX
Deleting a Shared Disc
The Delete function of RESMGR lets you remove shared discs that are no
longer needed. Deleting unused discs reduces the system resource load by
releasing disc space.
NOTE Be sure to remove shares from your shared disc before deleting the
disc. If you don't, users trying to connect to a deleted disc
across an active path will see an error message that tells them the
shared disc doesn't exist. The "Removing Shares" discussion
earlier in this chapter explains how to remove shares.
To delete a shared disc:
1. Access the RESMGR main screen, then choose Disc f1.
2. Choose Delete Disc f2.
RESMGR prompts:
MPE group ('//' to cancel, default=group)?
The default value is the name of your logon group.
3. You can either press Enter to accept the default value, or enter
the group name.
RESMGR prompts:
About to delete the shared disc in group.account. Are you sure?
(Y/N)
4. Enter Y to delete the disc.
RESMGR checks the disc for activity. If the disc is not in use,
RESMGR deletes it.
