HP Resource Sharing for MPE/iX

Modifying Share Parameters

You change information about an existing share using the Modify Share
function. The share to be changed cannot be active. Before you modify
your shares, you may want to use the options of the SHARE STATUS command
to verify the current parameters. For example, enter SHARE STATUS
PASSWORD to see the current permissions and passwords (if SM or NM
capability) for existing shares.

To modify an existing share of a disc:

   1. Access the RESMGR main screen, then choose Share f2.

   2. Choose Modify Share f3.

       RESMGR prompts:

       Modify DISC or DEVICE (default=DISC)?

   3. Press Enter to modify a disc (the default).

       RESMGR prompts:

       Sharename ('//' to cancel)?

   4. Enter the sharename of the shared disc path whose parameters you
       are changing.

       RESMGR prompts:

       Physical Path (default=\LOGACCT\LOGGROUP)?

   5. Press Enter to accept the default, or enter another pathname.

       RESMGR prompts:

       Password?

   6. Enter the share's current password, if any. Entering an invalid
password prevents you from modifying the share.

       RESMGR prompts:

       New password?

   7. If you don't want to change passwords, you must enter the old
password here. Otherwise, enter a new password.

Pressing Enter without typing anything deletes any existing
       password on this share.

       RESMGR prompts:

       Access (permissions) (R=read W=write C=create; default=RWC)?

   8. Modify permission codes as desired. Press Enter to accept the
       default of all three.

       RESMGR tells you:

       Sharename name has been modified.

You have finished modifying the shared disc parameters.
