Phase N. Verifying the Configuration from Access PC
If you're satisfied that the verification you've performed up to this
point ensures the accuracy of your Access Server configuration, skip to
Phase O.
The next level of verifying your configuration involves using Access PC
to access information from Access Server and checking the result.
Sit down at a PC connected to the host HP 3000 and run Access PC. Use the
Remote Connection screen to establish a session on the host machine.
For one user in each access group you've configured, go to the Remote
Connection screen, type that user's name and password (just as you've
configured them in defining the user) and choose Remote Tables. Check
to see that the correct configured tables appear for that user. If
you've added item security that does not allow this user to see a certain
item, you might select the table in which the item occurs to verify that
the item (column) is indeed hidden from this user.
When you're satisfied that all is as it should be, you're ready to notify
your PC users that Access Server is available for their use.
PC users will need to know:
* What user name and password to use on the Remote Connection screen
* Which configured tables they'll be able to access
