Information Access Server: Learning the Administrator Utility

E : Configuring Databases 

Your first task is to configure the database named SAMPL2, which you'll
find listed on Worksheet 1 (Figure 2-2).

SAMPL2 contains datasets of information you want to make available to PC
users.  You must tell Access Server where to find that database.
Defining the database in the data dictionary is the first step in making
the dataset information accessible to PC users.

Although the recommended configuration sequence begins with remote
systems, you'll skip this because SAMPL2 is on the host system.  Here's
what the system will look like when you configure database SAMPL2 into
Information Access Server:

NOTE If a message appears saying that SAMPL2 is already configured, the UDC TUTORIAL was not issued to delete the setup from a previous lesson taker. Go to Lesson 6 and follow the instructions to run TUTORIAL. Then return to Step D-1 in this lesson to continue.
