Appendix D  ISO-7 Support 

Information Access supports USASCII and the 8-bit Hewlett-Packard
character sets which are supersets of it (ROMAN-8, KANA8, GREEK8, etc.)
as well as nine European ISO-7 character sets.  We assume that one and
only one character set is used in the HP 3000s (host and remote) involved
in data access operations.

This appendix covers:

   *   When and how to specify your ISO-7 character set
   *   An overview of the mapping between ROMAN-8 and ISO-7 machines
   *   Exact mappings with ISO-7 to ROMAN-8
   *   Best Fit mappings with ROMAN-8 to ISO-7
   *   Some limitations to be aware of


NOTE  If you use USASCII or any of the 8-bit Hewlett-Packard character
      sets (e.g., ROMAN-8), as most United States customer sites do, you
      will not need the information in this appendix.
