Printing Reports [ Information Access Server: Database Administration ] MPE/iX 5.0 Documentation
Information Access Server: Database Administration
Printing Reports
There are two ways to print reports on configuration and status
information:
* From the Report on Configuration and Report on System Status
screens, for global types of reports
* Using the Print function label, for printing out information you
see on the screen(s) with which you're working
In either case, the printing or suppression of passwords is governed by
what you have chosen on the Password Options (PW) screen. (See
"Environment Configuration" under "Configuring the Data Dictionary" in
Chapter 2.)
All reports are output to the file ADMLIST, for which the default print
device is LP. To select a different device, you'll need to set up a file
equation before entering the Administrator Utility. For example, if you
have a laser printer configured with a device class PP, then the file
equation
:FILE ADMLIST;DEV=PP;ENV=LP2.HPENV.SYS
redirects your reports (and any printing done from List or Show screens)
to the laser printer, printing two pages per physical page. (Note: The
environment you specify must allow 132-character lines; otherwise, lines
will be truncated.)
Printing from Report Screens
You can produce reports about configuration and/or status by using the
Report screens in the Administrator Utility.
To use the Report screens:
* Go directly to the screen you want by typing its screen name in
the Go to screen field of any menu and pressing Enter, or
* Choose a function label in the Report Main Menu (RM).
The Report Main Menu looks like this.

DBA Capabiliities.
If you are the primary DBA, you can print all report options.
If you are a secondary DBA, you can print all report options except the
option for listing remote HP 3000 systems and their databases and files.
The reports you obtain will list only the data sources, tables, users,
and access groups that you control.
