Chapter 3 Starting the Computer System Once you have connected all of the cables and external equipment to the computer and have completed all of the procedures in Chapter 2, you are ready to start the computer system. The procedures listed in this chapter show you how to interact with the computer to get you to the Initial Software Load (ISL) prompt (ISL>_). This prompt shows where to begin entering the commands to start the[REV BEG] MPE/iX[REV END] operating system software. When the ISL prompt is displayed, proceed to Chapter 4, "Getting Your System Ready for Use," to learn how to get to the system prompt (:) and configure your software.
