Using Your System The User's Guide

Printing Conventions for this User's Guide

To help you locate and understand information, the HP 3000
Series 9X7LX User's Guide uses the same conventions as Setting Up and
Maintaining Your System.

This convention Means this

italic text A book title, emphasized text,
or text that you must supply,
such as the name of a file.

underlined text Text that you type exactly as
                         shown. For example, type

                              :SHOWME

computer text Text that appears on the
                         computer screen.

Shaded Represents a push button or
                         function key label, such as
                         Field Help.

Key Indicates a key on your
                         keyboard, such as Return.

The descriptions of MPE/iX commands, which use conventional MPE/iX
syntax, require more detailed conventions. Look in the beginning of
chapter 7 for these.
