HP Predictive Support CE Guide For HP 3000 Series 900
Phase 5: Checking the I/O Map
psconfig gets its peripheral device model numbers from SYSGEN. Before
running psconfig for the first time, obtain an I/O MAP of the system.
With an I/O Map, you will be able to identify those devices which are not
properly configured and can readily enable/disable coverage when you
enter psconfig in the next activity phase.
1. Log on as manager.sys,pub.
2. Type the following at the MPE prompt:
sysdiag
3. Type the following at the DUI> prompt:
sysmap
4. Type the following at the ENTER MAP > prompt:
iomap
5. Type the following at the IOMAP > prompt:
confirm on
6. Type the following at the IOMAP > prompt:
general
7. Examine the displayed information, and verify that information
with the physical check of the system.
8. Verify the accuracy of any I/O MAP statements of "ID is
Incorrect".
9. Note any discrepancies. Correct the improperly configured devices
in SYSGEN. Remember that a change to SYSGEN requires a system
restart.
10. Type e to subsequent prompts to return to MPE.
NOTE It is essential that accurate model numbers be configured into
psconfig for all devices that are to be covered by HP Predictive
Support. Non-existent devices that are configured into SYSGEN are
not a concern as long as coverage for them is disabled when
configuring HP Predictive Support.
