Appendix G  Installing an Update 

This appendix describes the procedure for updating HP Predictive Support
MPE/iX.

Log on to MANAGER.SYS and stream the IO1I779A.PSTEMPDB job.  Since this
job may use DSCOPY, stream the job after NS3000 has been started.  If
NS3000 is not installed on your system, the job may instruct you to copy
the database using STORE/RESTORE. If you receive such instructions, mount
a scratch tape, log on to the SYS account, and perform the following MPE
commands:

          :CHGROUP PSTEMPDB
          :FILE T:DEV=TAPE
          :STORE OPSDB@;*T;SHOW

Reply to the prompt.  Put the tape online when the STORE completes.

            :CHGROUP PRED
            :RESTORE *T;@.@;LOCAL;SHOW     !!Be sure to specify LOCAL!!

Verify that 20 files have been RESTORED into PRED.SYS.

            :PURGEGROUP PSTEMPDB
            :PURGE KPMON.PRED

Run Predictive Support to ensure that the update has been completed.  Log
on to the SYS account and enter the following:

          :RUN PSCONFIG.PRED;INFO="RUN"

Review the Action Summary Report that may be generated by the run for any
further action that may be required.
