Hayes Smartmodem 1200 

The switches that control the options are located inside the modem,
behind the front panel.

Prepare the Modem 

Remove the front panel by pulling the panel towards you.  The switches
are located on the left side.

Set the Options 

The switches set the options to either the UP position or the DOWN
position.  Table C-4 lists all of the Hayes Smartmodem 1200 settings.
Note that neither Configuration Type 1 nor Configuration Type 3 are
applicable to this modem.


NOTE There are two Hayes modems available: one model with eight switches; the other with ten switches. If the eight-switch model is being used, ignore the settings given for switches 9 and 10.
