HP Predictive Support User's Guide For HP 3000 Series 900

What is Involved in an Installation

The installation of HP Predictive Support involves several stages:

   1. HP Predictive Support is installed with the operating system tape.

   2. Restarting the system, if necessary; restarting the DTC, if
necessary. (See "When a System Restart is Necessary," below.)

   3. Configuring the modem.

   4. Configuring required information into psconfig.

   5. Running HP Predictive Support for the first time.

   6. Completing the installation by verifying the code word; checking
any event information from the first run; and customizing psconfig
features to reflect local site preferences.

NOTE Generally, updates to the HP Predictive Support software are distributed through the installation tape (IT) process to current HP Predictive Support installations. However, in some cases, updates may be distributed independently of the IT process.
