HP LaserRX/MPE Software Update Notice

Preparation 

To prepare for the collection software installation on the HP 3000, do
the following:

   *   Read the README.1ST file on the first PC installation disk.  Look
       for instructions that pertain to installing the collection
       software.

   *   Back up files in the SCOPE.SYS, PPC.SYS, and NET.SYS groups.

   *   Stop the SCOPE collector if it is running.  To see if the
       collector is running, use the SHOWJOB command and look for the job
       SCOPEJOB.SCOPE.SYS. To stop the job, purge the file RUN.SCOPE.SYS.
       The collector job will log off about a minute after the file is
       purged.

   *   Make sure no users are using either the HP Cooperative Services
       server (HCSERVER) or the Information Access SQL server (IASQLSVR).
       To check, a system operator with NM capability can enter the
       NSCONTROL STATUS command.  If the servers are not listed in the
       report, or if the number of sessions in the ACTIVE column is zero,
       proceed with the installation.  Otherwise, wait until the servers
       are inactive, or deactivate them.
