HP LaserRX/MPE Software Update Notice
Installation Instructions
Use the appropriate section below depending on whether the software is
being installed for the first time or an older version is being updated.
Installing for the First Time
This procedure copies HP LaserRX/MPE software from the installation disk
to the subdirectory that you designate (default is C:\LASERRX) on the
PC's hard disk. Use these instructions if no version of HP LaserRX/MPE
is currently installed on the PC.
The executable files for LaserRX require 3.5 MB of hard disk space.
Sample logfiles, requiring 1.5 MB, can be loaded at a later date. The
default subdirectory for the logfiles is C:\LASERRX\LOGFILES.
To install the analysis software on the PC, perform the following steps:
1. Insert Disk 1 of the installation disks into drive A.
2. Type A:INSTALL and press Enter.
3. Follow the instructions in the installation program. It will ask
for the an authorized user name for LaserRX and will update the
executable file.
This is the end of the installation procedure. Before you start HP
LaserRX/MPE, however, you should go into the Windows 3.1 Control Panel,
set the international option for the country you want, and click OK.
This will ensure that dates appear correctly on your HP LaserRX/MPE
graphs.

Updating an Existing Installation
The update procedure adds, replaces, or deletes HP LaserRX/MPE files in
the directory where your existing version of HP LaserRX/MPE resides.
Files that you have placed in the product directory are not modified or
deleted. However, before you begin, make a copy of any files you have
placed in the HP LaserRX/MPE directory.
To update existing HP LaserRX PC software, do the following:
1. Insert Disk 1 of the installation disks into drive A:
2. Type A:INSTALL and press Enter.
3. Follow the instructions in the update procedure. When asked, you
must specify the drive and directory in which HP LaserRX/MPE is
already installed (default is C:\LASERRX).
The installation program asks you for an authorized user name for
HP LaserRX/MPE and updates the executable file.
