Installing or Updating HP LaserRX/MPE on the HP 3000
Follow the instructions in this chapter to install or update HP
LaserRX/MPE on the HP 3000. (Installation and update procedures for the
HP 3000 are the same.)
These instructions address three tasks:
* Transferring the following installation files to the HP 3000:
* "TRUCK"--A partitioned file containing compressed HP
LaserRX/MPE host files.
* "UHAUL"--A program that unpacks the TRUCK file.
* "BUILDRX"--A job stream that runs the UHAUL program.
* Modifying and streaming the BUILDRX job and verifying successful
installation.
* Installing HP LaserRX/MPE host software on subsequent HP 3000s
that are running the same operating system (this is not applicable
to single-system users).
NOTE Before you start, read the README.1ST file on the first PC
installation disk.
The following files provide version information about the host files that
will be installed:
* MPE V - VERSION.DOC
* MPE XL
* VERSN22.DOC - 2.2 systems
* VERSN3N.DOC - 3.0 and 3.1 systems
* VERSN40.DOC - 4.0 systems
