Magneto-Optical Media Management User's Guide

Chapter 4  Magneto-Optical Utility (MOUTIL) 

This chapter provides command reference information for the
magneto-optical utility (MOUTIL), which provides maintenance and inquiry
routines to manage magneto-optical media within the Model 20GB/A.

MOUTIL enables you to execute the following commands:

   *   DO
   *   EXIT
   *   HELP
   *   INITMO
   *   LISTREDO
   *   LOAD
   *   LOCK
   *   LOG
   *   REDO
   *   SCRATCH
   *   STATUS
   *   SYNCTABLE
   *   UNLOAD
   *   UNLOCK
   *   USE
   *   VERIFY

Some of the more important tasks these commands enable you to perform are
as follows:

   *   Format, initialize, and scratch media.

   *   Synchronize the media management table.

   *   Display volume and media information for all media in the Model
       20GB/A.

The following sections provide the function, the syntax, and an example
for each MOUTIL command.
