Creating the Duplicate Accounting Structure

To prepare the alternate SPU for a switchover of the volume set(s), the
correct directory accounting structure must be created on the system
volume set of the alternate SPU. Note that the nonsystem volume set will
already have its accounting structure set up on its home system.

For example, the alternate SPU will need to access files on the volume
set A_USER_VOL_SET in the following groups:

   *   GRP1.ACCT1

   *   GRP1A.ACCT1

   *   GRP9.ACCT9

   *   PUB.ACCT9

Perform the following steps to add this accounting structure to the
alternate system. (Refer to the MPE XL Commands Reference Manual
(32650-90003) for more information about the NEWACCT and NEWGROUP
commands.)

   1. Create the accounts ACCT1 and ACCT9 on the alternate SPU's system
       volume set, if they are not already there:

            : NEWACCT ACCT1,MGR;PASS=password Return
            : NEWACCT ACCT9,MGR;PASS=password Return

   2. Create the groups using the NEWGROUP command. When naming groups,
       you must take care to maintain uniqueness of group names within
       every account.

       _________________________________________________________________

       NOTE The home volume set specification connects files to the
             volume sets at the group level.

       _________________________________________________________________

            : NEWGROUP GRP1.ACCT1;HOMEVS=A_USER_VOL_SET Return
            : NEWGROUP GRP1A.ACCT1;HOMEVS=A_USER_VOL_SET Return
            : NEWGROUP GRP9.ACCT9;HOMEVS=A_USER_VOL_SET Return

   3. When you switch the volume set to the alternate SPU, the files in
       these groups are available for access.

NOTE If you create new groups in the future on the home system switchable volume sets, you must create these groups on the alternate system, too.
