1-9.  JOIN FILE 

An external file which is brought into the EDIT/3000 subsystem (copied
into the WORK file) with a JOIN command (see Section III) is called the
JOIN file.  All or any portion of a file may be copied into the WORK file
with the JOIN command.  The information can be added to the end of the
current WORK file or it can be inserted into the WORK file at any point.
For example, seven lines from a JOIN file could be inserted between lines
13 and 14 of the current WORK file.  The contents of the existing JOIN
file are not altered by the JOIN command.
