System Administrator's Quick Reference Guide
3. Installing the System
To run the INSTALL utility, follow the steps below:
1. Enter INSTALL at the ISL> prompt:
ISL>INSTALL
This procedure initializes the system disk and copies the files on
the system load tape to the system volume. The procedure takes
about fifteen minutes.
2. Press Y or Return if the date/time prompt displays a correct date.
If not, enter the correct date in the format dd/mm/yy and the
correct time in the 24-hour Greenwich Mean Time format hh:mm:ss.
A series of messages is displayed. Toward the end of the
procedure, the system displays a message similar to the following:
END OF LOAD (install)
The system automatically resets itself and restarts the boot
routine.
3. Remove the system load tape.
4. Boot from the primary boot path by not interrupting autoboot, or
by pressing Y when the following message appears:
BOOT FROM PRIMARY BOOT PATH (Y OR N)
You may see a message warning that an AUTOEXECUTE file does not
exist. Ignore it and let the system run.
5. On completion of the boot routine (from the system disk), the ISL>
prompt is again displayed.
