Chapter 1 Installing Your System This chapter lists the steps required to carry out a first time installation of the MPE XL operating system software on a 900 Series HP 3000 computer system. The procedure involves loading the boot files, base system files, fundamental operating system (FOS) files, and subsystem files from tapes. The system installation tape includes configuration groups in the SYS account for multiple versions of 900 Series HP 3000 systems.
