6. Shutting Down and Restarting the System

After you copy the default configuration group to CONFIG:

   1. Press:

            CTRL A

and at the = prompt, enter:

            =SHUTDOWN

A series of shutdown messages is displayed. The last message is

SHUTDOWN OF OPERATING SYSTEM COMPLETE. (SHUT 6).

   2. Reset the system from the system console by entering:

            CTRL B

   3. At the CM> prompt, enter:

            CM>RS

Ignore any prompts and let the system boot from the system disk
       (primary boot path).

   4. At the end of the boot activity, when the ISL> prompt is
       displayed, enter:

            ISL>START NORECOVERY

This restarts the system from the system disk, using the
configuration files now contained in the CONFIG group. CONFIG is
the default group used anytime the system is restarted. You may
ignore any error messages you see during this procedure.

   5. At the date and time prompt, enter the date and time only if it is
       incorrect, otherwise press Return.

   6. When the MPE XL: prompt is displayed, enter:

            MPE XL:HELLO MANAGER.SYS;HIPRI

At the command interpreter prompt (it may be a colon or it may
change depending on your system), enter:

            :STREAMS 10

            :STARTSPOOL LP
