RECOVERING FROM UNEXPECTED PROGRAM INTERRUPTION 

In case of unexpected interruption due to hitting BREAK or a terminal
power failure, control returns to MPE. To recover from such a situation,
you take the following steps:

   1.  Perform a hard reset.

        *  On an HP 264X terminal, you press the RESET TERMINAL key
           twice, and then press RETURN to display the colon prompt,

        *  On HP 262X, HP 239X, and HP 150 terminals, you press SHIFT 
           CONTROL RESET and then press RETURN to display the colon
           prompt.

   2.  If echo is turned off, press ESCAPE, then press :  to restore
       echo.

   3.  Type RESUME and you should see the message READ PENDING.

   4.  Press REFRESH to return to the menu at which you were interrupted.

The menu will be cleared to initial or previously entered values.  To
insure against damage to the file, reenter the information on all menus
pertaining to the form you were creating, modifying, or entering data at
the time of interruption.

If you were in the unformatted portion of a FORMSPEC Field Menu, the
procedure is slightly different, as follows:

   1.  Perform a hard reset, as described above.

   2.  Type CONTROL R ABORT CONTROL R (Letters must be upper case as
       shown).

   3.  If echo is turned off, press ESCAPE, then press :  to restore
       echo.

   4.  Issue the RUN command for FORMSPEC to continue operation.
