x4restore
Restore the configuration and log files backed up on tape.
Syntax
_______________________________________________________________

x4restore {configuration} [-d device_file][-o directory]
{logs }
{both }
_______________________________________________________________
Parameters
configuration Restore configuration files only.
logs Restore log files only.
both Restore both configuration and log files.
-d device_file Restore from a specified HP-UX tape device.
-o directory Restore HP-UX files to specified system directory.
Description
x4restore is the opposite of x4backup. It replaces current
configuration and log files with those previously backed up on tape. The
-o option allows the user to specify an alternate location for the
restored files. This utility uses cpio(1) and a predetermined list of
files to back up the system.
NOTE If the configuration files are restored without using x4restore,
the following files must be removed after the restore is completed:
/usr/lib/x400/*.conf.new and /usr/lib/x400/*.conf.trn.
The tape must be loaded and ready to read before executing this
command.
