Netware 3.11 for the HP 3000 Installing and Administering Guide
Printer Support
For the 3.11 release of NetWare for the HP 3000 host printers must be
configured as part of a PSERVER. Only one PSERVER can be started on the
host. The PSERVER supports up to 16 printers.
Remote PSERVERs and RPRINTERs
To set up additional NetWare networked printers, you can set up PC
workstations as standalone PSERVERs which can each manage up to 16 output
devices.
PSERVERs can manage devices directly connected to the PC as well as
remote networked printers.
You can also set up a PC workstation which has a printer attached as a
remote printer using the RPRINTER utility. More information on setting
up PSERVERs and RPRINTERs on PCs is described in the Print Server manual.
Some printers can be set up as network printers like the HP LaserJet
series II, III, and IV. Configure the network printers as queue server
and they behave like a remote NetWare PSERVER. Refer to the HP LaserJet
network card and printer documentation for more information.
