The Cut/Paste Buffer The Cut/Paste buffer is a special storage area that HP EDIT uses to hold text from a copy or cut operation. In a copy to buffer operation, the block of text that you mark is duplicated in the Cut/Paste buffer. In a cut to buffer operation, the block of text you mark is copied to the Cut/Paste buffer and then deleted from your file. During a paste operation, text is copied from the Cut/Paste buffer and inserted in your file at the location you specify. Text remains in the Cut/Paste buffer until the contents are erased during another copy or cut operation.
