Line Error Messages
Messages resulting from line errors indicate that the communications link
could not be established or you tried to perform online input or output
without having established the communications link. A line error always
causes a batch job to terminate. In an interactive session, after
issuing the error message RJE/XL displays a # on your terminal to prompt
you for the next command.
Format of Line Error Messages
The format of the line error message is as follows:
****LINE ERROR: x
x is a digit specifying the type of error.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MESSAGE **** Line Error: 0
CAUSE You tried to perform remote I/O without having established the

MESSAGE **** Line Error: 1
CAUSE RJE/XL managed to map from the DEV or NODE parameter to one or
more logical devices configured as communication lines, but was
unable to open any of the lines successfully.
