Chapter 7  Trace Formatter 

The RJE/XL trace formatter is invoked using the NMDUMP program.  The
following menus are used to illustrate the formatter operation.  User
responses are underlined.

The following menu example shows the user invoking NMDUMP to format a
trace file for SUBSYSTEM 37(RJE LINK). The name of the trace file to be
formatted is named RJETRACE and the formatted trace output will be
written to LISTFILE.

At the RJE Trace Formatter Options menu, the user elected to change
options 1,2,3,7 from the default values.  The user was then prompted for
the new value for option 1 (Maximum bytes/frame to output).  The user
entered 512.  Next, the user is prompted to enter the trace filter
options.  In this example, the user has elected to format every trace
entry by selecting option 99.

The options menu is displayed again with the new values for options
1,2,3,7.

Notice that options 3 and 7 simply toggled their values.  The user has
completed the options selection and presses [ENTER] to continue.  The
trace file is formatted and the output is written to the file LISTFILE.
