The Internet Boot Protocol daemon, or bootpd, is used to boot LAN
devices such as routers, printers, X-terminals, and diskless workstations.
Nodes on the network use bootpd to get configuration information such
as an IP address and a
subnet mask and automatically boot the
device. This chapter describes:
- How to configure bootpd.
- How to start bootpd once it has been configured.
- Implementation differences between bootpd for MPE/iX and
bootpd for HP-UX.
