To clear hardware and software associated with a logical device
number, physical port, serial interface card, or DTC so that a new
session or job can be started on each port.

After the RESET command is entered, the
following prompt is printed on the terminal:
(reset) Ldev # POrt #,#,# SNp #,# (X.25 card in DTC) Vc #,#,# SIc #,# multiplexer card in DTC) DTc # (carriage return to exit) ?
|
These are the subcommands that can then be entered. The following
pages describe each of these options.
If you press [Return] instead of one of
the subcommands, you will be returned to the major prompt and may
then enter another TermDSM command.
Some port/ldev problems can not be fixed with ldev or port
resets. If a port is still unusable after a reset, consider using
RESET SIC. Note that this will
affect all users on that card. Finally, if the RESET SIC
is also unsuccessful, then the entire DTC should be reset. Note
that this will affect all the users on the DTC.
